Where is the plant closure list promised to the APWU over 2 years ago. Management is closing one plant after the other all over the country. Employees are given just a few months to move, lose their job or retire. Hey APWU I would like to know in advance that a major change is coming in the lives of Postal Workers not just a few weeks notice. Management is keeping the closure list secret to keep their production figures up till the last minute. Guess they are affraid most of their workers would be out looking for another job instead of reporting to work.
If the USPS really wants to reduce ranks of employees, then they should play fair and offer at least half pay for unused sick leave for those of us that want to take an early retirement.
To 6:44 anonymous, maybe there's so many supervisors to oversee moron workers like you, who try to get out of work as much as possible. Why do you think the PO wants to close plants, because of lack of work by the employees. The plants are becoming useless and very very expensive to run.
Let's see - unions blame management, management blames unions, jobs disappear. Obviously the experience of the steel industry in this country hasn't influenced anyone. By the time everyone woke up, it was too late. The USPS has the ability to create some great opportunities but neither side can make it happen on their own.

More signs of the USPS shrinking at the same time as UPS is growing! Your business is eroding and its time to start laying off your dead wood.
Erroding business? Hmmmm.........I saw some FedEx Ground parcels last week. Looks like business is growing to me.
I'm sure the UPS moron is quite familiar with, um... shrinkage.

Just fire all the lazy clerks. The carriers can run the whole operation.
