The way to eliminate the cost of misaddressed mail is not to forward or return it.Catch it in the system ASAP and dump it. If a company wants it forwarded or returned, charge them the actual cost plus contribution to overhead, like any other service.
Standard mail should never be forwarded. There should be a fee for electronic address correction if requested.
8 flats a minute?...I case more than that...so why go with the machine that costs millions and then when the carrier goes to the street it takes him or her longer while trying to play with the mail. Why do we need 5 supervisors standing around watching 30 workers case mail? Where are the cuts to supervisor ranks? Will supervisor hours be cut. I am being totally honest. Why are the cuts always with the people who do the real work when it is obvious we could save millions eliminating supervisor hours. Oh... I guess that will come when carriers no longer case mail at all in the office and are sent straight to the street with the mail. But then again management looks out for their own...they will come up with something..maybe 5 sups driving around watching carriers all day.
