Again & again, we have seen the STUPIDITY OF MANAGEMENT
BEYOND A REASONABLE DOUBT. This time the lives of the postal employees are at risk due to the bottom line, which is PROFIT. This stupidity began years ago when the old Post Office Department, became The United States Postal Service. All the higher ups at that time were interested ingetting the service off the ground, but as the NEW IDIOTS came on the scene, things started to change, & the workers were being pushed hard for the word called PROFIT. This is the way it has been since 1971, and continues today. Now the SECURITY OF THE MAILS is being threatened by hiring an outside firm to guard the mails when our postal police were doing an excellent job. They still are & will always do a job better than the outside firms will ever do while they are guarding the USPS MAIL BUILDINGS

THE RETIRED POSTAL CARRIER

Face it. The U.S. Postal Inspection Service cares nothing about the safety of postal employees and is only concerned with high-profile cases which garner media coverage. A carrier getting robbed and beaten or a clerk being threatened and assaulted is not the type of crime that gets inspector's noticed. Every day, carriers are victimized on the streets of the U.S., while they steadily slash postal police jobs--replacing them with unarmed contract guards (who care even less about employees than the inspectors).

See, the day after I posted the message above, an Oakland, CA carrier was shot in a robbery. Where were the inspectors? Why are they slashing postal police jobs? I'm sorry, but this doesn't make sense. The inspectors are only there to be reactive and investigate after carriers and clerks have been victimized, which does NOTHING for the victim. Postal police are proactive, visible and in uniform, and should be patrolling high risk carrier routes AS A DETERRENT!
