Because we have morons for management and most just got out of high school, maybe, our sorting machines only run a total of 4 to 5 hours a day. The mail is never ready to be processed. Clerks prep letters and flats intead of operating machines. First class mail is left every day, containers of first class mail left behind and delayed. Potter, you better start with the uneducated people you call managers when it is time to terminate.
If PMG Potter wants to streamline mail processing you better start in the Central valley in California. The mail I get advertising sales is usually 5-7 days after the sales have ended. Just what is going on? I know the mail processors work when they want to! but come on? Who's watching them?
Not ONE word mentioned about "redundant management".....
Potter, if you were SERIOUS, you'd start THERE, instead of shooting the USPS in the foot all the time and cut craft. Sure, we DO need management, good management, but the AMOUNT of managers, etc that STAND AROUND talking most of the morning, is taking its toll on the till. Refitting good offices spending 100k on it.....
If Congress were serious, they'd look into the problems we have in the USPS. However, they only want to "look good" in front of their constituants and the public.
It is about the same thing as the soldier in Iraq that shot the "alleged" unarmed Iraqi...........We're in a WAR, he does his job, and get's screwed for it. See if ANY Iraqi soldier will give quarter to ANY G.I. that's in a pinch over there.
Quarter isn't given to the USPS workforce either........

The USPS could save a lot of money if it would just lay off the bloated salaried USPS workers and get the proper machinery. Labor is killing the USPS.
