DHL's MONOPOLY money will dry up soon enough, and all we have to do is keep hammering at them and they will fold up and go home. This will ensure UPS's worldwide dominance. Then all that is left to do is to sink the USPS.
Check your rates, smart guy. The USPS is more expensive for 6# and above with a daily pickup account, and that number is lower for those with our volume discounts. You can send a one pound box UPS Ground to a zone 2 business for less than a 15 ounce letter with the USPS, and the box is trackable, insured, and guaranteed to arrive next day. Get yourself a UPS rate book before you make yourself look foolish.
The airlines used to think nothing could ever happen to them too. Yes, UPS has a parcel monoply because the government will not let the USPS compete. Let the USPS compete on a fair basis and UPS is ancient history. They better just hope that the USPS is kept the way it is. That way they can make their $70,000.00 per year and 7 weeks vacations and all their other benefits that we do not get. More power to them, but never think it cannot change. Just look that the once powerful airlines.
ups worlwide dominance??? That's funny. I think outside the US where ups has a harder time buying politicians DHL is much bigger. Oh, and ups gives cheaper rates to customers that ONLY ship (and in high volumes) with them, of course. You fail to take into account that the USPS has to give everyone the same price on parcels BY LAW. That's what a SERVICE does.If the USPS where ALLOWED to give volume discounts ups would lose massive business.Your tracking means little to most shippers, they mostly want to know WHEN it is delivered. The insurance you always trumpet is WORTHLESS as it is unclaimable, so you are left with one conclusion.UPS gets business ONLY because they can give deep discounts that USPS isn't allowed to.The shipping industry knows no one does the last mile better than the USPS.Maybe that's why ups always asks us where the addresses are they can't find!
I agree with the previous comment totally. I hate those volume discouts. They are terrible for those of us with p.o. boxes that do not want anything shipped UPS. I do not have a p.o. box just so UPS can throw a parcel on my front lawn in the situation where I am forced to use them as they have an exclusive contract with a company.
Then get a superior private mailbox at the UPS Store. They can recieve UPS, USPS (Ugh) and other inferior carriers all in one box. PO Boxes are for thieves and ripoff mail houses.
If the USPS offered discounts, they might as well pay the postage too! YOU HAVE NO ROOM TO DISCOUNT! 80% of your revenue goes to LABOR! What are you going to do, give dime discounts? HEHEHEHHEHE!

Your dominance will soon come to a end, because you will price yourself's right out of business!
