APWU Opposes USPS Employee Surveys

APWU needs to think this one through. If union members refuse to take part--then the majority of the surveys will be completed by happy management employees. That will lead a skewed survey--WHICH WILL YIELD HIGHER VOE SCORES AND MORE MONEY FOR MANAGEMENT. I don't believe that is what union members want. It would be wiser to submit the survey with the honest opinion that you hate the place and thereby lower the VOE scores and cut down on the extra $$$ for management.

Unfortunately it is not that simple. What a postal employee writes on the survey in narrative form is not considered, only the questions on the survey are evaluated. The APWU is 100% right to instruct its memebers not to participate in this dog and pony show. Employees are well within their rights to refuse to participate. One cannot be forced to participate and any retaliation for not doing so from supervisors may be grieved.

More whining...does it ever end? Why does every APWU headline begin with...." We are against this...against that....". Do they have a positive perspective on any facet of postal operations? They sure don't refuse those paychecks every two weeks, now do they? Mr. Burass is so far out is LEFT field that he is no longer even a partner in the process of forging a future. Go ahead and continue to listen to his dribble, and watch the union dwindle until it is completely meaningless

I'm a soon-to-be ex-APWU member, and I say to all the members - to hell with the APWU and their request not to participate in the survey. I've always done it and I'll continue to voice my feelings and I encourage all my brothers and sisters to do the same. Some day you'll realize that the USPS is a better friend to you than this rotten union.

Can't wait for my birthday to get out of this stupid union. They worry about VOE surveys, they should be worried about plant closing and contracts. They voiced heavily on voting for Kerry and to get President Bush out of office instead of trying to bring problems and solutions to both parties. The unions and management are to work together to achieve a common goal, that is to move the mail, very simple. I think a privatized PO should be the way to go with what a I read about from the APWU.

Look at it THIS way, folks. If you WANT to participate in those "surveys"......well, participate in them. If, on the other hand you DON'T want to participate in those "surveys".......well, DON'T. Take them home, throw them away, or use them for toilet paper. Look whom they are addressed TO!!!!!! They are yours to do with as you please, just like ANY OTHER piece of first class mail. Just because they are addressed to your place of work, doesn't decide that you cannot keep them. Like any other of your mail you take home, get a supervisors initials on them that you are removing said piece(s) from building. Simple, no???
