This is what the Postal Service gets when they hire casuals. For the past year article after article involved some casual stealing, throwing away mail, opening mail, stealing credit cards, burning mail. When is the Postal Service going to wake up. If you dont hire career employees with something to lose than you will end up with casuals stealing the mail.
keep using casuals, keep cutting back on personel. are the investigators looking at all the undelivered mail at the post offices because we do not have enough clerks to get it to the carriers and enough carriers to get it to the street. and they are still worried about the bottom line even with the v time taken off for the holidays. and by the way to rico, gfy.
Specific whiner: Three letters to form an imbecile’s cry? Is that the extent of your argument?
It is the mark of an educated mind to be able to entertain a thought without accepting it.
Regrettably, your rancor is the tongue of the desperate. And, it is why when one speaks instruction, you will always be relegated to the position of subservience. Punch the clock not the messenger.
On a percentage basis, a higher number of REGULAR employees have stolen mail and/or hid it than temp casual employees. Thus, MORE regular employees do it than temp casuals. Perhaps, the USPS is on the right track. Replace the regulars with temp casuals so all the mail will get delivered. Save substantial sums of money as well. Check the Inspection Service to confirm this. Surprised??
This is the kind of advertising our good letter carriers don't need. Using the headling mail found in a carriers home, gives ALL carriers a black eye. Anyone who steals out of the mails deserves to get prosecuted. There is no excuse for such things to happen. R.D.
And, if one goes by a DOLLAR amount of stolen Postal goods, it is MANAGEMENT that leads that category. Time and time again, a postmaster/manager steals from the Postal Service, whether it be cash, money orders, or just EVA.
On the other hand, management HAS to hire casuals to afford the high bonuses they are receiving for whipping working craft employees.
Management is also CHEATING rural craft carriers out of their hard earned pay for their measly yearly bonus. It's never ending.
Rico, you are the subservient one. You sound like a whinner 204 B or a df management person. Again, Rico, I win, I will always win, you will always loose. GFY
Hey Rico, you sound like a Rush Limbar(or what ever is name is, you know the drug user)from your comments. You can stand tall without standing on someone's shoulders, give me an F-in-brake. Newton once said "I have been able to see what I have seen because I stood on the shoulders of giants." You on the other hand have sucked on the heals of morons!
This is the stupidity that is allowed by the IDIOTIC PERSONEL MANAGERS who hire these SO CALLED CASUALS, & when something goes wrong, they will not accept the blame. When the service learns tohire a true permanant workforce, things will be different, as A true workforce will be happy to work. The Postal Service will also have to RETRAIN the managers who need to be taught how to respect the workers, which does not happen today as these ASSHOLES WANT THEIR BONUSES on the backs of the workers. In my station, we have a REAL IDIOTIC OFFICE MANAGER, & LINE STUPIDVISORS who try to INTIMIDATE THE SENIOR CARRIERS. one carrier hits them off the clock by SLAMMING THEIR HERITAGE prior to clocking in to work. He has been successful & has also written to the higher ups & reports it to them & also notifies the newspapers about what is happening in the Post Office. They have since realized that they are getting hit hard by the press & have slowed down. We are on our guard for the next episode of attacks, & are standing by, waiting for them to begin. I wonder how far the next batch of problems will take us this time.
Off topic: I'm not a USPS employee. However, I just started receiving mail from the previous occupant of my Manhattan apartment. Mail postmarked 1994 and 1995. I'm actually trying to track down recipient and sender; could someone hoarding mail like this result in the sudden flood of mail? yap2001@columbia.edu

Got to keep those labor costs down, though. Labor costs are killing the USPS.
Chronic whiners: It's useless to put your best foot forward and then drag the other one.
Our PMG, by asking the impossible has obtained the possible and greatness is ours.
There are no shortcuts to any place worth going.
You can stand tall without standing on someone. You can be a victor without having victims.
May you all have a Joyous Christmas and may God Bless the USPS, our PMG, all management, and President George W. Bush.

Any employee who steals should be prosecuted no matter what their status is.
Unfortunately we get the spotlight, if an employee steals from UPS or FedEx you never hear about it in the papers.

I'm sorry to say it was a PTF carrier.
