A story like this does show the nation, that we still have honest people in the Postal Service. A story like this on the first page does show that the service has honest people. Every organization does have problems with their employees, who feel that they can get away with it, but the good ones always suffer.
I want to say THANK YOU to the LETTER CARRIER for returning the found money to the rightful owner.

Kudos to our brother carrier!!!
But beware fellow carriers... The Postal Inspectors could SET YOU UP!!! Any moneys found while in the process of your deliveries and NOT turned in could land you in a lot of hot water!!!

"A postal manager was charged with stealing $373,000 after allegedly telling clerks he needed blank money orders for official U.S. Postal Service business, according to a federal complaint unsealed Monday."

Not everyone in the USPS is so honest.

Why are you all so negative? Can't you leave it that someone did the right thing and turned the money in. Why bring up Postal Inspectors setting you up? Postmaster that stole money? It has nothing to do with this honest act.

Like the carrier said: "If it is not yours, give it back." I am forever finding money on the route. I once found found $170.00 stuck on the back of an envelope for one of the nicest patrons I have on my route. I gave it to the boss and he returned the money to the rightful owner who was on the deposit slip. The money belonged to the patron's good friend miles away. Do the right thing, and the right thing will happen. If I ever find money on the walkway of someone's house, I leave the money in the mailbox. Likewise, I once left my purse with quite a bit of money in it in a shopping cart. Someone returned the purse with everything in tact. What goes around, comes around.
