Is History Repeating Itself?

'In the mid-1980s and early 1990s, the nation experienced extraordinary budget deficits... The Presidents of that era, Reagan and George H.W. Bush, in concert with a Democratic controlled House enacted legislation that had a devastating affect on the USPS... Currently, the postal community fears that history is about to repeat itself... The question is: Will deficit reduction hold postal reform hostage?'

Good ol' Bushy is not going to give a rat's Patoot about the USPS with a second vietnam going on, and all the debt he's running up. He's going to hide more deficit into the USPS as long as he can because the USPS generates money to pay for it all. He's interested in cutting costs at the USPS with no money coming out of his pocket. The shrinking continues. Glad I voted for him!

"Is history repeating itself?" Well...it always does.

It seems that if Democrats are elected to the highest
office then all is well. The reason(s) for all the deficits that the federal government runs can always
be traced to the Democrats' administrations. Begining
with FDR who created all these goverment welfares and
found a way to get democrats elected into office by
creating all of these social programs that eats up the
federal budgets year after year. In fact President Reagan doubled the revenues coming into the goverment
coffers but the democratic controlled Congress spent
like drunken sailors and ran up all of our deficits. President Bush (41)compromised with the Democrats(Read
my lips) and raised taxes proposed by the Democrats and
when it did not work, Democrats promptly blamed him for
the slow economy. Bill Clinton promised to cut taxes for
the middle class and instead gave us the biggest tax raise in history. I know, that you will say that the
economy was great under Clinton, but that was as a result of the Republicans taken control of Congress and
forced Clinton to pass the welfare reforms and cut the
Capitol gain taxes. Those reforms and the .COM explosion
and the Contract With America were the reasons for the
good fortunes of the 1990s. Clinton just happened to be
in the right place at the right time. Take a quick read
of the U.S. Constitution and you will see that all these
social programs developed by the Democrats to buy votes
are not listed in our Constitution. The Democrats and
their social inresponsabilities are responsible for the
federal deficits. Had John Kerry and John Edwards been
elected on Nov 2, the United States Of America would have become the Socialits Republic of America with free
health care and free vacations for those that are un-
employed and on welfare. The United States will then be
governed like those socialits countries in Europe such
as France and Germany.

Ok 12:34...try this on for size. You can possibly blame the democrats for Reagan's massive deficits, but you can't do that with Bush 2. The republicans have controlled congress for the past 4 years, and the deficits that W's running up make his dad's overspending look like chump change. Oh yeah, there's a war on.

The fact of the matter is that under republican administrations, they give tax cuts to the wealthy and ignore the country's infrastructure. Then, when a democrat does happen to get elected, he has no choice but to raise taxes, because there's no money to fix all the stuff that the republicans let fall apart. Then, when taxes get raised, the right-wingers shout out their tired old "See? He's raising taxes!!" line. It's a never ending cycle with each side crying foul.

You really should consider pulling your head out of your ass and see what's really going on in this country. Bush's regieme won't be happy until everyone is making Wal-Mart wages, and the working people of this country will be too broke or tired (from having to work 2 full-time jobs) to do much about it.

Viva La Revolution!

It doesn't matter which party is in control...They are all ruled by the almighty dollar!!! They are all whores who only notice you when your waving political contributions in front of their face. The republicans got made at labor because labor started playing their game.(pacs)No one party is better than the other or cleaner than the other...They are all lowlifes looking to make a buck at anybodys expense!!!

So all that being said we now know that most are corrupt and chasing a buck,...so get your heads out of the situation and into Jesus! :)

You Liberals just don't get it. Your comments about Bush's tax cuts being for the rich can only be labeled
as just simpleminded and straight from the Democrats'
playbook. Were the tax cuts implemented by President
John Kennedy in the early 60s for the rich? Of course
Not. Tax cuts are for those of us that pay taxes. The
wealthiest 5 percent pay more than half the taxes, while
people in the bottom half pay just 4 percent, according
to IRS statistics. Those wealthiest 5 percent have a
taxable income of $128,336 and as I said, they paid 55
percent of income taxes. The top 50 percent of U.S. tax
payer pay over 96 percent of total income taxes paid.
Those so call rich as defined by you Liberals are the
achievers in our society. So the bulk of the tax cuts
must go to those who paid more in taxes. It's that simple! Liberals have enacted a confiscatory Tax System
at Federal, State, and local government levels that
presumes God-fearing Americans guilty and which leaves
average working Americans incapable of supporting their
own families and themselves. This tax system has forced
Mom to leave their homes/children and work in order to
earn enough monies to pay their taxes. Shame on you Liberals! Remember, that tax cuts are for those that pay
taxes and are not welfare hand-outs to those taxpayers
in the bottom half that according to the IRS, only paid
4 percent of the income taxes in 1999. These tapayers only earned less than $26,415 a year. However,
they get lots and lots of unearned benefits from Uncle
Sam, so that they may continue to vote for the Democrats. If you are a Democrats and a union member, you
should be ashamed of yourselve.

Like contacting a member of Congress is different from contacting Karl Rove himself? Hey, Karl! Save me! Give me some help to avoid reelecting you.

No, that's not it.

Yes, history is repeating itself; every other week or so some moron ,who's either a imbecile postal manager or a POS DMer cries: " My,My!, America is apparntly too ignorant to take hold of postal reform"......... "I guess STUPIDITY will continue to move us into higher prices"........." those overpaid postal workers are robbing shippers blind".... "Junk mail should be handed the keys to the postal service!!!".... "Why is everybody so dumb that they can't see that?"

....repeating itself at regular intervals....incessantly!
