More DHL options means less ups parcels!

Genius, dont you realize that those stores go head to head with post offices for business? While the incompetent Post Offices have lines around the block our UPS Stores have customers in and out. Let the PO have the worst of the worst customers who cant speak english, the ones who are dumb as rocks and our stores will take the cream of the crop. UPS has a powerful brand that is shared with our retail chain, and no German sympathiser MBE wannabe is going to overcome that. In any case, all the stores will steal your customer base and convert retail customers to the private industry carriers. All roads lead to UPS.

Sorry, wrong again BS (as usual)More DHL=less ups!

It seems that BS lives with his head in a hole in the ground. Good for DHL, they are all ready the world's biggest shipper except for the US. UPS will have to keep raising their all ready sky high rates as their union contracts are huge. Imagine making $70,000 per year with 7 weeks vacations every year for a job that requires a drivers license and the ability to lift. They also pay nothing for their benefits. Seems like the airlines thought nothing could every happen too. Something to think about.

What about the USPS HIGH HIGH UNION WAGES, HYPOCRITE? A lot of DHL is UNION too. Our UNION drivers make the difference. Who do you think is more competent, the disgruntled contractor of the month who is selling his UNPROFITABLE route, or a 20+ year vetran who has been driving the same route for years and knows the area like the back of their hand? I would put our UPS drivers up against the WALMART WAGED contractors like FREDEX GROUND any day. Our technology is superior, our workforce superior, and its worth every penny. We laugh when the customers go to the competition seeking lower prices because they will find out the truth: UPS is the best at what we do, and those prices are low for a reason with the other guys: THEY ARRENT WORTH IT. Several large customers have switched and came right back begging forgiveness. That only strenghtens their loyalty to the GOLD SHIELD. DHL drivers couldnt find their BUTTS with both hands, much less a rural location. Anyone see the lawsuit where a FedEx Ground CONTRACTOR won against FedEx and proved that the drivers are actually EMPLOYEES instead of contractors? I think Fred is going to have to open his wallet here soon and start PAYING his ground division. You postal workers are so clueless its funny. Keep fiddling while Rome burns. You have no freinds, only leeches and wolves at your door.

"All these groups have begun political action – pushing what they want in Postal Reform bills – immediately after the November 2nd election. The political and public campaign to change the current Postal Reform bills is already high and will get much louder and stronger throughout the winter and spring. They want your wages, retirement, and health benefits reduced through Congressional legislation and they want bigger postage discounts for presorting mail. They also want to have the ability to open mailbox delivery to anyone so that they can establish their own processing and delivery system to completely bypass the USPS. In your corner – fighting for you – is only one group, your Union. And the opposition is large, well financed, and politically connected. Despite all of this, your Union will be fighting the fight of our lives – of YOUR lives - to protect you. ...if you are not a member – join the group that is the ONLY group fighting for you. If our Union loses this fight – we all lose."

Before you slam UPS for being UNION you need to take a look in the mirror and see that your people talk like all UNIONS: ME ME ME! At least we at UPS work our people hard to get full benifit of their high wages. You mailmen would be on the piket line faster than anyone if it wasnt illegal. WAAA WAAA WAAAA the private industry can do the job better than us! Make the big mailers pay more! WAAA WAAA WAAA!

The truth is when they leave UPS they realize they are paying way to much and that the service is everything UPS is and more. I tell people all the time that UPS is a great way to ship if you want to pay the premium price. You can get the same thing for much less with just about anybody else. I guess if you can afford UPS, go for it, I envy you. Otherwise I will stick with priorty mail, where you even get it delivered on Saturdays. Oh yes, everyone else delivers on Saturdays, but not UPS. It is like walking into a new way of life when you get away from UPS.

Ups is an overpriced joke. How come the 20 yr driver comes crawling to the USPS letter carrier to help him find addresses?Ups is always asking us where addresses are!WE know the routes far better than ANY ups driver because we are everywhere everyday.......sorry but little ups isn't!

Anonymous said...

Your union drivers make the difference? As I recall BS, don't you refer to them disrespectfully as "worker ants"?

Anonymous said...

I agree, UPS is an overpriced joke. That sums up that company totally. Every parcel they lose is another parcel where somebody came to their senses and realized how much they have overpaid in the past.

I would also like to add that if UPS is the best anyone can find, god help us all.

I suggest you stop listening to the USPS lies about how cheap they are and take a look at an official UPS pickup rate chart and check again to see that UPS is less expensive for three quarters of the weights and zones that the USPS covers. The USPS lie always goes the same way when Priority mail is put against our second day service, but Priority mail is more comperable to our GROUND service. Max time in transit for coast to coast delivery is 5 days, and between major cities that time can be 4 days. Our times in transit are GUARANTEED, even for ground. Can Priority mail say that? NO. Its not trackable, its not insured, and can get there any old time it feels like. The USPS gets by with murder on deceiving the public. Like I said, take a look at our rates and you will see that we beat priority and parcel post on price at about 5 pounds and up in all continental US zones. Thats why big corporations with millions of packages choose UPS and not the USPS. The light shippers are being converted to UPS basic where the USPS can howl all it wants to about being the delivery boy for our packages, but we make plenty of money on the deal. Recognition dont pay the bills, folks. Keep downsizing and shrinking your workforce and giving bribes to your customers until you run out of money and beg G.W. for a handout.

Priority is nothing like your slow as a slug "ground".The VAST majority of priority mail is delivered in 2 days.Since Fed Ex has flown all priority parcels the 2day window is most always met.Can ups compete with the $7.70 any weight any zone priority mail?I didn't think so.Go buy another congressman and try again BS.

Anonymous said...

If you are so confident about your Priority service, why not guarantee it? FedEx and UPS both guarantee 2 day delivery or your money back. As for your Flat rate nonsense it will do nothing but suck your own money away. The Ebayers that are ga-ga over it already use priority mail, so there goes your own revenue. Seriously, what kind of items will even fit or survive the trip at 20 pounds? The USPS will lose its shirt with another hair-brained scheme.

Are you listening to yourself? FEDEX is the engine behind priority mail. The USPS is like a cripple that cant do its own work. Id like to see you all operate your own airline at those prices. WE OWN PLANES. FEDEX OWNS PLANES. THEREFORE WE OWN THE USPS. Go ahead and try to use another airline that isnt part of the 3 major carriers. They will all go bankrupt eventually while UPS Soars high in the sky and FedEx putts along. You USPSers are so full of it its incredible. You can do nothing for yourselves, yet take all the credit.

they're standing in line to get into the post office while you are in and out at UPS. what's up with that? the postal service has always been a contractor in regard to transportation. remember Lindbergh and others? the usps concentrates on home delivery and does the BEST job hands down.

Anonymous said...

Yeah, its easy when you have a monopoly on mailboxes. We would love to be able to put our small packages and envelopes safely in a Mailbox, but OMG thats a federal offense. Blame the USPS for some of those missed deliveries. With the USPS being contractors for transportation they are at our industry's mercy, and its high time we put the spurs to them.

This is from Sept 3, 2004. Yeah, you guys are stealing UPS business for sure. Our volume is UP UP UP!

"package services were down 0.1 percent, priority mail was down 2.4 percent, express mail fell 3.3 percent"

Anonymous said...

Here is the customer you get with your priority mail gimmicks. I read that FREDEX charges the USPS by the pound for mail hauling. How does this make anyone but Fred Smith money?

"Is there a rule on the Flat Rate Boxes that we can't use lots of tape?

I've been experimenting with them and I was able to get 20 pounds of magazines in one but it would need taped up real well to survive the shipping."

That is a LOSS of $6 - $30 over regular priority rates.
Thats a LOSS of $20 over Parcel post, and smaller losses except in zone 2, but your FREDEX cost and HANDOUT BOX cost has gone up. Real geniuses working the promotions department there. Check your USPS rates yourself if you dont believe me. UPS daily pickup price delivered NEXT DAY by GROUND, GUARANTEED is less expensive in zone 2, residential, shamelessly lower for a commercial location.

Anonymous said...

Delivered next day by ground? Now there's an oxymoron.NOTHING would be delivered the next day by ups ground. That is the SLOWEST service possible.

Anonymous said...

Remember DHL owns planes too. They will come in handy as they take away parcels business from ups.

Anonymous said...

Take a look for yourself, genius. Ground is guaranteed day-definate except during the holiday season of December. The rest of the year it is GURANTEED.

DHL doesnt own a U.S. airline, Mr smartypants. Fred and UPS saw to that. They contract out to ABX Air Inc, which is AIRBORNE's old fleet. DHL being a GERMAN company cannot own or operate an airline in the United states. No ownership = less control.

Anonymous said...

DHL may not have their fleet operating in the U.S. YET.Give them time though. They as you say use Airbornes system for now and that is workable. They will continue in the U.S and continue to take business from ups.
Also I have many times had a ground parcel take more than five days.So is that guarantee like your so called insurance? All words but no pay?

Anonymous said...

Did you file for a claim? Cant get paid unless you ask!

Anonymous said...

Last time I checked DHL was the only company to consistently deliver before the due date. Nothing makes me more mad then to see my shipment sit down at UPS fpr 2 days just because its not "due".
