I am vey happy to read that GRINCH'S such as Kenneth Bobin are thrown out of the Postal Service. If every organization did what the Postal Service does with their employees, the world may become a decent place to live. If everyone follows their true course, reading news articles like this would become a thing of the past, but we all know that this will not happen. I do hope that the Judge who gets the case will throw the book at Kenneth Bobin & put him away for many years.

It always amazes me that someone would throw away a career for ten dollars. What's the value of eighteen years with the Postal Service? Good riddance, they lost a moron.

The postal representative said that this was "unusual", "BULLSHIT!". This type of thing happens everyday in all parts of the country from Clerks to Carriers and Mail Handlers stealing from the mails. The unfortunate part of all of this is the customer is the one that is affected. The other issue is that the Judge will probably slap his hand and say don't do it again. The union will file a grievance and the Arbitrator in is magnificent judgement will return this theif back to work.

As a union rep for the NALC I can tell you that the union will not file a grievance for a thief. This thief was a clerk not a carrier and unfortunately he gives a black eye to all postal employees. Anybody that would steal mail does not belong in the Postal Service and they get what they deserve.

A time ago we had some sub carrier steal those little parking envelopes that the cops stick on the cars. He would take the five or ten bucks and think no one would notice. So of course people did notice and of course he was "set up" with a few planted letters on the collection run with cameras and hot and cold running inspectors and boom they got him.
So he goes along and he forfeits job and gets no civil penalty because he went along and the inspectors somehow messed up something on the arrest. He feels pretty dejected so he goes to Florida to meet with his brother for a bit. He comes back and looks for a job. He gets a neutral job recommendation by the po
He gets a job selling cars and is good at it and gets a company car to drive around in. Sell sell sell. He comes back to the old po all tanned and in a new caddie. So of course we had not seen him in a year and we thought he was in the pen or home arrest or something. But there he was still tanned with a new caddie.

I read the mean-spirited comments on this web site. It always amazes me how people have plenty to bitch about over the little things in this society. Yet they don't grasp the larger picture of life and that there are far worse inhumane acts that occur everyday that could benefit better from your voice and this website.

I could hardly believe the mean-spirited comments I read on this website. It never ceases to amaze me how small-minded people bitch about the relatively insignificant events in life. There are many more inhumane and brutal acts that occur every day in this society that could benefit more from your voice and this website. You should be ashamed of yourselves.

I can't believe the awful comments. Those who live in glass houses...... How many of you have taken something home from work, whether it be a pencil, pen, paper or whatever. You have just been very lucky or fortunate not to be caught. Yes he was wrong but he made a mistake. I'm sure none of you have made a mistake, how many of you have kids that do awful things to kids or other people including stealing.

I’m amazed and disturbed by the media’s distortion of the truth. Mr.Bobin was not a mail carrier. He worked inside the post office sorting the mail. Also, he did not steal Christmas cards and gifts as the word Grinch would connote. There was only one charge. The item he was charged with taking was an item that was undeliverable to a nonexistent person and ended up in the trash, which is where he found it. It was wrong to take a trashed item, but the newspaper implies he stole people’s mail as a mail carrier, which is far from the truth. Mr. Bobin, with remorse, acknowledged and admitted his wrongdoing, unlike other persons in our society who play the lawyer card and distort the truth. It was his honesty that gave the press a field day, yet what the newspapers wrote is so distorted it sickens me. He has paid a price by all this public humiliation that paints the canvas one color. In fact, despite his wrongdoing he was a very hard worker and a thoughtful and contributing member of the community. It is my hope he is able to leave this behind him and get on with his life.
