The Late George Harrison once wrote a song: Sue Me, Sue You Blues. It was true then and true now. Get a life you people.
I agree that all suits like this one should be considered frivolous, but to tell these folks to "get a life" when those folks' actions are a result of a postal-carrier losing their life is more of the typical offensive crap posted at this site. You negate any influence your argument might have when you make such such poorly-thought-out statements. Get a life, indeed.
hey toejammer1 I read your comment and your politics are clear. but what you forgot is that all the things that you talked about also have a safe usage. A gun on the other hand has but one true job- TO KILL and if you sell those illegally then you are responsable for there actions.
A gun is an inanimate object and not capable of acting on it's own. It takes a person to use a gun, for good or for bad. It's the person who makes the decision and not the gun or the company who makes it. It's interesting to note that you don't hear of any lawsuits against the auto makers when a drunk driver kills someone driving a car made by them, isn't it? Guns have their place in our society and that place is guaranteed in the 2nd Amendment. Just think about it. Guns are not going to go away anytime soon and mentally deranged people are not to disappear either. So don't you want a gun to protect yourself from the criminals in society?
if it wasn't guns, it would be somethine else: rocks, spears, or any type weapon. We are a violent people (human race). As long as there at least two people...one is going to do something sooner or later to the other!! But bringing law suits is sometimes just funny in itself.I don't condone what happened but
What a load of blow. Why the gun mfgs? Why not the powder company too ? Or the ammo co that the powder went into?... Why not knife mfgs? ,why not hammer mfgs?........why not brick mfgs?,.....Why not alcoholic drink mfgs?... why not donut mfgs???? ...and ice cream?.....etc...etc... The fact is, if the postal service were'nt such a Neanderthal-authoritarian pack of inverted reason, carriers would ,logically, BE REQUIRED TO BE ARMED and well trained in their use!!
The irony is that a lot of these gun nuts end up shooting each other or themselves during the hunting season. I guess they mistake each other for a squirrel.
According to the logic of 7:00 everyone should have an atom bomb. After all, atom bombs don't kill people; "people kill people." I got tired of guns when I was in the Army.
Everyone has a right to self defense and if it takes a gun to protect YOUR life, then so be it. What's the big deal? Guns aren't the problem, as usual people are.

If 7:00 handles a weapon anything like he handles a computer keyboard, I sure am glad he isn't allowed to take his gun to work.

Maybe this country is just full of paranoid rednecks who like guns.
