Postal Service raise rates and it makes the headlines, they raise rates and the news is tucked away on the back pages or not at all! The big question is why? Why the public has a fit about our rates being raised and are totally ignorant about the rates of these private compainies going up? Wait, I know, it's because they pay our salaries by taxes? Guess again..
It is because of our name associated with a government agency and all of the GOP Republican BS that big government is bad so they look for anything that makes their accusations legitimate, like our rates going up.
Well, as always, we are the lowest rates in the free world with the best service, regardless if our rates go up in 2006!
What else is new? UPS raises their rates again. The Post Office tries that and people are ready to leave the country. UPS raises their rates and people think it is great. What nobody stops to think about is that, you, the customer pays for it. Their customers pay the cost. If I remember right the airlines do the same thing. Soemthing to think about.
Not only are we the cheapest postal delivery service in the free world, we are also the best delivery service according to the independent media study conducted this holiday season. In a test conducted by 4 media groups the postal service outperformed Fed EX, UPS, and DHL. The independent study compared delivery times and price and in all 4 tests the postal service outperformed ALL competitors. Great Job carriers once again proving that the USPS is the greatest delivery service in the world.
Those tests prove nothing except how dumb the testers are, putting our GUARANTEED 2 day services against PRIORITY MAIL, which is not insured, trackable, nor GUARANTEED in any way. If you are on the east coast and you NEED something on the west coast in 2 days, would you chance PRIORITY mail over UPS or FedEx 2 day service? If you do, I got some bets for you to place in vegas, all hopeless long shots.
Yep, its a real comparison when a GUARANTEED service is compared to a NON-GUARANTEED service minus tracking and insurance when comparing costs and performance. Lets see how well Priority mail performs against 2day guaranteed service from FL to HI sometime. Bet UPS will cost more, but will get to HI in 2 days, and Priority will take 3 days or more. If someone lives in ARMPIT, WA where USPS FEDEX mail is 2 days, lets see what gets there first, UPS 2day or PRIORITY mail. I bet in those tests GROUND would get there in 2-3 days between major cities. Unless you are living in the UNIBOMBER's old shack, Ground will take a maximum of 5 business days to get to you. Zone 2, ONE DAY. Those morons that do the tests barely know which end of the stamp is sticky, much less that PRIORITY IS NOT A 2 DAY SERVICE AT ALL AND SHOULD NEVER BE COMPARED AS SUCH. If you get a discounted account with UPS, UPS 2day can be CHEAPER than priority, anyway, and you can get a FREE BOX if you want one, also.
UPS is getting way to expensive, and are pricing themselves out of the market! FED EX, and DHL, are kicking their ass! UPS service is horrible too! Only a matter of time before they self implode!
First of all BS, what has your great guarentee have to do with anything when you get beat anyway? Secondly, sounds like when you don't make your "window" you just deny the claim!(ups business as usual)
In what way did we get "beat", genius? The UPS product arrived in two days. End of story. Priority mail got there in two days? GREAT! It wasnt guaranteed to! If it had arrived in 3, it still would have been in the ballpark for the USPS, but by UPS standards that would have been a service failure. UPS holds itself to higher standards. By the way, you should check the USPS market share, it is the one that is shrinking. The USPS is taking nothing from UPS.
I wonder if the higher rates will prevent the idiot UPS driver from leaving my package out in the rain? Complain all you want about the Post Office, at least my mail carrier won't leave my packages out to be damaged in inclement weather. It's time UPS steps aside and lets someone in who can do the job correctly.
The reason the USPS lets the idiot "testers" spread lies about how great the USPS is because FRED took the USPS to court and WON for deceptively advertising Priority mail against 2day services. Good for Fred and his payment of all the legal fees that suited UPS just fine. Check it out mailmen:

I would choose priority anyday.My packages from Rhode Island,Maine,Florida etc.. always get to Washington State in 2 days. 3 days if one of the days was a sunday.Why does UPS send us their cards to customers to get their packages delivered?I get some delivery attempted could not deliver due to no apartment number.Yet the card i get from UPS IS ADDRESSED PROPERLY WITH THE freaking apartment number.They were probably WAAAAY to busy to attemot it LOL!!!
