Hey Potter where is the plant closure list you promised the APWU over two years ago. Are you afraid that no one will show up to work at one of these plants once the word gets out. Just slug management will show up.

Good it's finally going to start, plant closing, close all those expensive, non-productive, OWCP claimers and get us more than 1.3%. Postal reform will be good.

Your right too bad they couldn't get rid of the regular employees also, plant employees are the worst employees in the PO.

The problem is that all their redundant managers will end up supervising carriers. We have two of these reject supervisors now. They don't know ANYTHING about delivery, yet they are put in charge of carriers.

As a postal employee it is embarassing to see that postal employees have no idea of what a REC is. Do you know anything about the company you work for? I'm sure if FedEX or UPS had REC's their employees would know what they were and that because of the equipment that the there employee was buying to get us into the future makes the REC's unnecessary which was part of the Automation Plan from the 1995. Learn about what we do before you make comments on what you don't know.

Amen to that. Don't worry brother carrier, your job is next.

Not to worry, many carriers know full well what REC plants were for.All involved knew these were always meant to be temporary, so the closing wasn't exactly unexpected.Carriers being next? Well I'm sure management will always try to expand routes further but the mail still has to be delivered.

That's right. The mail will always have to be delivered by a carrier. Even when the DPS is missorted by the plant. We have seen many supervisors come from the REC sites. Typically they last a few months and then wash out.

Gee Whiz. Why would anyone be happy about people losing their jobs? Your pay won't go up because of this. You won't see any benefit at all from it. And, when all is said and done ... you'll just be supporting the jobless when they are forced to collect government checks. I just can't believe what this world has come to!! People being happy about fellow brethren losing their jobs?? And, we all know that good paying jobs are hard to come by! Show a little compassion!!
