The Postal Rate Commission web site has the latest 'On Rolls and Paid Employees' (ORPES) report, summarizing the USPS career workforce. This report is to be posted bi-weekly on the site in the future. The USPS last week posted a more detailed report, the
'Active Employee Statistical Summary'.

Can't we get this form in a readable format? I know postal management sees things differently, just didn't realize it was such a "stilted" view.
to many people watching people work and not enough workers..its thier red ink
RED INK? OF COURSE THERE IS RED INK. FOR EVERY WORKER SORTING AND DELIVERING THE MAIL THERE IS ANOTHER NON-PRODUCTIVE WORKER ALSO COLLECTING A SALARY. THE POSTAL SERVICE IS VERY TOP HEAVY WITH MANAGEMENT PRODUCING NOTHING. SO FORCE SOME MORE CRAFT EMPLOYEES OUT OF THE POSTAL SERVICE AND HIRE SOME MORE MANAGERS. IT IS THE POSTAL WAY---RED INK.
Careful what you wish for. When the USPS is privatized, the new owners will bring in a new team of managers from the private business sector to replace the ones we currently have. The new USPS will not keep managers or employees that are not accountable. What are you cry babies going to do when you actually have to work all day every day, for less money than you make now, and if you do not work, you will be replaced-simple as that. It is not only management and red ink that are driving this company out of business, it is each and every one of us. So keep coming to work each day and doing only enough to get by, but just remember, some day soon we may all be working for ups, fedex, dhl, or some other company that decides to buy the USPS, and just getting by will not be tolerated by them.
i'm busting ass for 11 hours a day and yes i take a 30 minute lunch. Other than that it's flat out working. If you think you can keep up with me, come out with me for a day. Then we'll see who the lazy ass is. Half you morons got out of the craft because you couldn't handle the work, believe me it's many times harder now than you can imagine....
I agree with the above poster. I don't know where these people are working half a day or whatever, I'm working ten with a 30 min break!
The work is harder now than it used to be???? What an idiot. Ever work all mail manually? Ever work on an LSM? Now we have DBCS, SPBS, Flatsorters, Cancelling machines, Forklifts, Tugs ECT, ECT, ECT.... Wow--pretty tough--just stand there for 10 hours and get paid time and a half to run a machine or drive a piece of equipment. Wish I could show you big babies what work used to be. I feel guilty for the lack of work I do each day, and you morons think this is hard work? What is the post office coming to. The new age of lazy free-loading ball babies. Cant wait to retire and get away from all the complaining.
It's obvious the above poster never carried mail.THAT'S the job getting harder.Maybe its far past time for you to retire.
