My Man BUSH! Support private enterprise! Drive the artificially low prices of the USPS back into reality! Keep them out of the private sector! Dont worry about getting the USPS POed at you. Most of them dont vote anyway.

This sounds like a politically-motivated attack on the president just before an election.

Just how can the president force Congress to do anything? Threaten to veto? How would that look to the public? The opposition would simply tell the public the consequences of the veto (a 6-cent per stamp increase).

Now it's true that avoiding this postal "reform" will save the Federal budget tens of billions of dollars. We simply have to decide how we wish to be taxed -- higher income taxes or higher stamp prices.

When the postal reform bills, HR-4341 & S-2468 passed their respective committees, everyone was happy. Now we learn that the president was using the reform to undermine the workings of the postal service. He has succeded in stopping the vote for reform, but now the decision must come from the voters who must decide what to do with George W.. He has been lying to us for many months now & now is the time for all americans to WAKE UP AND SMELL THE ROSES. In the event George W. is re- elected the president, we must hope that he get's a
DEMOCRATIC HOUSE AND SENATE who will vote the opposite way.Postal reform is needed now and the sooner the better for everyone.

The first comment from the Bush supporter must work for the competition or an ex-disgruntled postal employee. The fact is, the postal services prices keep down the prices of the competition which would be overly inflated to rip off the working middle class.
