UPS Net Income Rises 20% in Q3

"United Parcel Service reported solid third-quarter growth yesterday, with revenue rising 7.7 percent and net income increasing 20.4 percent. For the three months ended Sept. 30, worldwide average daily volume rose by 445,000 packages to 13.7 million, or 3.4 percent."

usps doing just great. thanks for asking, and when browny goes on strike in '06 we will take even more cutomers than last time.

I guess that means there will be no annual 3.5% rate increase & that the fuel surcharge will disappear!

Thanks to the carrier connect program our office secured a NEW contract that approx $35,000.00 dollars that ARE NOT going to the BIG BROWN!!!!!!!!
Wait till UPS can't pay its retirement it will go the way of US AIRWAYS>>> ya can only charge soooooo much for a product!!

It is really a shame that the post office is not allowed by law to operate like UPS. If UPS had to operate under all the limitations that the post office faces they would not have it so good. I do envy their employees, what other job pays $60,000.00 to $70,000.00 per year with 7 weeks vacation and the only requirement is to have a drivers liscense and the ability to lift. Postal reform would free up the post office to be able to compete on a fair basis.

Thats correct... With Postal Legislatuion we can run UPS out of town! Just yesterday on my route I found a parcel delivered by UPS to a house where the people had moved and the new owners complained to me that These folks don't live there. I smiled and looked at the package and politely explained to the owners had the postal service handled the parcel it would have been forwarded instead of delivered. I see quite often this problem and also misdeliveries. Give it back to the USPS !!!
