Postmasters to Connect with Local Businesses

"USPS is launching a new program that will reward Postmasters for connecting with their local businesses. The effort is an extension of Customer Connect and seeks to educate local businesses on USPS.com and how it can serve all business segments. The new program intends to use Postmasters and station managers to create awareness of USPS.com with businesses and business leaders."

Real businesses use private carriers whose prices to volume shippers far undercut USPS pricing, and our services outpreform USPS in every way.

Are you guys still hawking those pre-paid envelopes at the same prices as every joe who walks in the PO? Wow. What a great web-based solution Pitney Bowes or some other Postal Groupie made for you. Its slow, offers no perks, and is basically training wheels for real shipping.

REAL businesses do not need the PO for packages or time-sensitive documents/packages. Concentrate on junk mail and unimportant correspondance and the bills for the technologically challenged who havent gotten with online billing and payment. The USPS is disgusting when it tries to beg for business. BUSINESSES DONT NEED YOU!

Those high union wages and benifits are dragging the USPS down. They cant lay you off, so attrition and not hiring is the only option the USPS has. The ones who are left will dance like good monkeys if you want those retirement checks and go where they tell you. You better keep your mouths shut and let this whole deal implode and escape with what money you can.

DHL? What a joke. Read this one, smart guy?

DHL Sees Loss As FedEx, UPS Dominate
Wednesday September 29, 5:37 pm ET

NEW YORK (AP) -- Shares of United Parcel Service Inc. moved higher in trading Wednesday, while DHL Express appears not to be garnering the U.S. market share it originally expected.
Germany's Deutsche Post AG, which owns DHL, earlier told Wall Street that launching a delivery service to compete against UPS and Federal Express Corp. would lead to a $369 million loss for the year. The company upped that amount by another $247 million on Wednesday, saying it does not expect to break even until 2006 -- a year later than previously expected.

Gee BS, a first year or two loss for DHL and you act like that is a surprise to anyone? Wake up! Don't you think DHL EXPECTS this? Any time you enter a new market you will lose money for a few years, that's no shock to anybody.Remember they have pockets as deep (actually probably deeper) than little ole ups! They will do more and more damage to ups the longer they are here! Oh how the loud and mighty will fall, ha ha ha!!! Keep looking over your shoulder!

One only has to try DHL service to never want to use it again. Their pockets arrent deep enough to get too far in this country. Maybe they will just be satisfied taking a chunk out of the USPS market, since a trained monkey in a tiny car is better than USPS service. Now go sell some pre-stamped Priority mail envelopes and make it sound like that is something new and amazing, will ya?

Ha, Ha, Sorry BS I've tried DHL and they were MUCH CHEAPER and MUCH faster then weak overpriced ups!!!Like I said 1)They are not after USPS, they are after YOU. 2)They can stay for the long haul and they will damage YOU more than anyone else. This will be fun to watch!

If businesses don't need the USPS , then who is sending out all this "junk mail"??

DHL hasn't got a chance to survive for the long term. The service is terrible, and the company will continue to lose money, year after year. The parent company (Deutsche Post) did not expect to lose money; they expected to make billions the first year after the merger with Airborne Express. The purchase of Airborne Express was a BIG mistake, and is costing them mega-bucks.
DHL (formerly known as Airborne Express, which it still really is) wants to continue Airborne's tradition of being the low-cost service provider. Low-cost to their customers means low-profit (or rather NO profit) to DHL.
It's only a matter of time to see DHL's demise.

"DHL expected to ake billions....". Wrongo, Mr Union Dumbshit. It's facinating to me how low IQ's idgits can screw up simple things...and this is another example of it. DHL stated right off the bat that they did not expect to break even in the US until 2005. They recently moved that back to 2006. Not once did they ever say "billions". They well know that $1 million would be cause for celebration. Remember, the key words were "break even". It's called "buying market share". So, get an education of some sort before spouting off & showing the whole world what a stupid dipshit you are. Or...read the newspaper word for word next time....without moving your lips.

I work for DHL, so I know what's been said on the inside. Deutsche Post expected that their purchase of Airborne Express was going to provide them an easy way to make Billions in the US market, because that's what the Airborne CEO Carl Donaway (master of deception, master LIAR), led them to believe, and they were stupid enough to jump into the deal. They want to do everything on the cheap, and will never make a profit with that loser mentality.
