Postal reform is necessary in order for the service to survive. The funds that the service must pay is not done by any other government agency, only the postal service. It's time for the congress to move on this legislation, and stop dragging it's feet. This may be the biggest thing that ever happened for the postal service since the strike of 1970 when the workers walked off for better wages. All the service is doing is asking for fairness, and to be treated fairly. This is not being done according to PMG Jack Potter and I do believe that what he is saying is true, and not the lies that were told under CARVIN MARVIN RUNYON. As for William Henderson, He tried but did not come through for the service.

Why doesn't the Postal Service just pension off all of the Civil Service employees? It seems like such a simple solution. Most of them have got to be close to retirement age anyway. Is anyone listening?
Five day delivery sounds a lot easier than it would be. If you go to that, you have 20% higher volume the other days. For every five routes: You then need to create a new route; you need another vehicle; you need to fit another carrier case; more benefits etc... Some offices may need to be enlarged. May need more sorting equipment. It goes on and on.
Five day delivery huh? So every Monday Carriers would have three days of mail and on the Monday holidays Tuesday you'd have four days worth of mail. Whoever had the five day delivery idea is obviously brain dead.
Don't any of you have a life outside of the Post Office? Aren't you tired of missing out on normal weekends with your family? You better take the blinders off, Saturday delivery is soon going to be a thing of the past, just like the Unitd States Postal Service as you know it. You'll be going the way of the milkman!

I AM A EMPLOYEE OF THE POSTAL SERVICE AND I DONT BELIEVE POSTAL REFORM IS EVEN CLOSE TO BEING ACHIEVED.
Go to five day delivery. It would keep 100,000 plus mail vehicles off of the road for one day and save hundreds of thousands of dollars in that alone.
Want real postal reform? Talk to the people that actually move the mail-ask them how to move the mail faster!

If we give up one day a week private industry will get a foot in the door. That will be the beginning of the end of the postal service.
