Why should the USPS worry about State taxing the work large mailers do. It has nothing to do with the cost of postage! This is just another way a state can tax business and mailers in that particular state. BIG DEAL!
Um, it's a big deal because it could directly affect mail volume in many areas. Businesses, including the USPS, are very sensitive to and can be greatly affected by these "marginal" changes. If it wasn't a lot of money, no one would be going after it in the first place.
This is another way that the states cook up to raise revenue to run their offices. As a postal worker, I would make certain that if I need stamps, I would purchase them from the P.O. and not through STORE THAT HAS A SMALL STATION IN THE EVENT THAT A TAX IS IMPOSED. The best thing for the public should do is order their stamps throughthe Postal Service& not from a store that may be forced to collect the tax.
Wrong again, Maynard. I have no tax shelters, work for a small business with seven employees and rent a house. I believe in sticking up for the little guy against big business, so that means I am a DEMOCRAT.
Maybe you should stop making assumptions and start trying to form arguments. It's a tougher process, but far more effective in getting your point across.
